Roadhogs Appoints Simon Withers as General Manager 

Established in 1990, we remain the only specialist pig farming recruiter in the UK. In June 2023, we appointed Simon Withers as General Manager to enter a new phase in farming recruitment. 

Simon has a wealth of experience in the agricultural sector, with a proven track record spanning many decades. His career highlights include strategic Business Development Manager for Kingshay and Head of Global Elected Member Training and Integration for Arla Foods. Simon’s new venture at Roadhogs will see him taking the reigns as General Manager to develop new strategies, champion pig farming and continue to build on the business’s reputation. 

Simon explains, “Roadhogs has an unrivalled reputation in the sector, and the appointment represents an excellent opportunity for me. Throughout my agricultural career, I have always been really interested in the pig sector, continually building my knowledge and properly understanding the sector’s challenges and future opportunities.

With my farmer-facing experience and organisational and people skills, I can positively impact our producer customers and wider team.

My immediate objective is to properly understand the business from end to end whilst looking for opportunities to strategically build our core business, which includes working out how to retain and attract new talented people into the pig farming sector.

I also plan to develop the reach of the Roadhogs Recruitment brand whilst looking for additional growth channels, delivering value and excellent customer service to our clients.”

Simon’s appointment is an exciting new direction for Roadhogs Recruitment, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds under his management. 

Liz Barker and Clive Searson continue to be actively involved with Roadhogs and hands-on on the recruitment side.
