We have learned that your CV can make the difference between getting an interview or being added to the reject pile.
Important CV Advice
When applying for any job, you need to make your CV relevant for the job you are applying for!
If you are applying for a stockperson’s job, then you have to highlight all those particular skills plus what you feel you have to offer for the position.
Question to consider
- Why should the producer look at your application?
- What makes you stand out?
Take a bit of time to consider how to present yourself, reap the rewards later when applying for jobs.
If you are looking at a career change, it is important to communicate why you are looking at pursuing a Pig Industry career.
Question to consider
- Can you tell us why you are looking at this career change?
- What is it about the job that appeals to you?
- What qualities do you have to offer to the role?
CV Writing Tips
- ALWAYS write an introductory paragraph about yourself, your work experience and why you would be right for a particular job or industry.
- Include ALL relevant work experience and avoid employment gaps – an employer would rather see a career change than speculate on breaks in employment.
- Start with the most recent jobs and bullet-point duties/tasks/responsibilities.
- Be comprehensive, but DO NOT go on – a tidy and to the point CV will stand out.
- Always DOUBLE CHECK your CV for spelling, grammar and errors. A mistake-free CV shows professionalism and that you care about how you come across.

Don’ts
