General Information
We are recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for an outdoor farm in Victoria, Australia.
The chosen candidate will join their business and provide pivotal leadership and support on their 5000-herd farm.
The producer is fully accredited by the Australian Pork Industry Quality Program and, in many areas, even exceeds the already high standards set by that body.
For the full-time position, you will be responsible for undertaking animal husbandry and assisting with livestock care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Tend to routine husbandry of all stock
- Care for sick and injured stock
- Move, draft, sort and weigh stock
- Administer medications and vaccinations when required
- Artificially inseminate stock
- Feed and care of stock
- Adhere to safety and biosecurity standards
Person specifications:
- Minimum of at least 3 years in a commercial pig farming
- Machinery skills would be an advantage
- Uphold the highest level of animal welfare
- Have a positive attitude
- Be physically fit to undertake manual and repetitive tasks
- Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude
- Problem-solving skills, reliability and flexibility
- The desire to be part of a close-knit team
The job will suit someone from the UK on a 'working holiday visa' and then progress to a 482 visa.

Salary: $24 - $27 AUD p/h DOE
Accommodation can be arranged in shared housing with fellow workers. You will share living and housing expenses.
